Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients including bathing, dressing, and mobility assistance
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any concerns to nursing staff
- Assist with activities of daily living to preserve patient dignity and comfort
- Support nursing team in turning, positioning, and safe patient transfers
- Maintain clear, timely documentation of care and observations
- Follow infection control procedures and contribute to a safe clinical environment
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
- BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Comfortable working overnight hours and providing direct patient care
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Previous experience in a long-term care or acute setting is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient handling and safe transfer techniques
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, feeding, ambulation support
- Infection prevention and standard precautions
- Accurate charting and clear communication with interdisciplinary team
- Time management and ability to prioritize patient needs
- Compassionate bedside manner and de-escalation techniques
