Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality telemetry nursing care for adult patients
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and act quickly on clinically significant changes
- Administer medications, IV therapy and treatments safely and accurately
- Perform thorough assessments and document clinical findings clearly
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and execute patient care plans
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and discharge instructions
- Escalate changes in patient condition to providers and participate in handoffs for continuity of care
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license (California) — required
- Telemetry experience (demonstrated comfort with cardiac monitoring and EKG interpretation)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred
- Strong clinical assessment skills and effective communication with patients and team members
- Ability to work independently on per-diem assignments and adapt to varying clinical environments
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — acceptable
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
- Medication administration and IV therapy fundamentals
- Patient assessment, documentation and nursing process
- Patient/family education and discharge planning
- Prioritization, time management and critical thinking under pressure
- Team collaboration and clear clinical communication
