Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately to determine immediate needs
• Provide skilled nursing care and emergency interventions in the ER
• Administer medications, start IVs, and monitor vital signs with precision
• Document patient care clearly and promptly in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and ancillary staff to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up
• Maintain strict infection control and safety practices under pressure

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (required)
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS preferred or encouraged
• Previous emergency department experience preferred (even 1+ year)
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize in high-acuity settings
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Comfortable working independently during per-diem shifts and collaborating as part of a team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills
• IV insertion, medication administration, and urgent procedures
• Familiarity with electronic health records and timely documentation
• Critical thinking, rapid decision-making, and calm under pressure
• Clear communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Basic familiarity with common ER workflows and protocols
