Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside care and assist patients with daily living activities
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and report changes to the nursing team
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients
- Assist with transfers, mobility, and positioning while following safe patient-handling practices
- Support fellow staff by communicating patient needs and ensuring continuity of care
- Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to protect patients and teammates
- Build trusting relationships with patients and their families through respectful communication
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification in the state of California (required)
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required immunizations
- Previous CNA experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred
- Comfort working overnight hours and handling the pace of a clinical environment
- Strong communication skills and a teamwork mindset
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited CNA training program and certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, patient hygiene
- Familiarity with infection control and safety best practices
- Comfortable with basic documentation and reporting patient observations
- Good time management and ability to prioritize patient needs
- Compassionate patient-centered care and strong interpersonal skills
