Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team
- Support safe transfers, mobility, and proper use of assistive devices
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate clearly with interdisciplinary staff
- Assist with meal and medication routines as directed by licensed staff
- Foster a respectful, dignified environment that promotes resident independence and comfort
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential in good standing
- T-CNA certification listed as a recognized credential for this role
- Recent experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility preferred
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass required facility background checks and health screenings
- Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and collaborating with a team
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Current CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of resident care principles and infection control practices
- Skilled in safe patient handling and mobility assistance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Compassionate bedside manner with attention to resident dignity and safety
