Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care including bathing, grooming, feeding, and mobility assistance
- Monitor patient condition and promptly report changes to the nursing team
- Assist with safe patient transfers and use proper body mechanics to prevent injury
- Support daily living activities while promoting patient dignity and independence
- Maintain accurate patient charts and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary staff
- Help create a calm, respectful environment that supports recovery and well-being
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification strongly preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working night shifts and adapting to changing assignments
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well on a team
- Demonstrated compassion, reliability, and attention to patient safety
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited CNA program and state certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamentals of patient hygiene, ADLs, and mobility assistance
- Basic vital signs measurement and patient observation
- Infection control practices and proper PPE use
- Clear communication with patients, families, and clinical staff
- Time management and ability to prioritize patient needs
