Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
- Rapidly assess, triage, and prioritize patient needs in a fast-paced ER setting
- Administer medications, start and manage IVs, and perform necessary bedside procedures
- Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
- Document assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic health record
- Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and follow-up plans
- Maintain situational awareness and escalate concerns to ensure patient safety
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (California license required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
- Prior emergency department experience preferred but motivated new ER nurses will be considered
- Current CPR certification and up-to-date immunizations
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in high-acuity situations
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Triage and emergency assessment skills
- IV placement and medication administration
- Familiarity with common ER procedures and rapid decision-making
- Proficiency with electronic health records and accurate documentation
- Teamwork, adaptability, and strong clinical judgment under pressure
- Basic wound care, splinting, and cardiac rhythm recognition
