Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care, assisting with bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to nursing staff
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
• Assist with feeding and nutrition, ensuring dignity and comfort during meals
• Document care activities clearly and promptly in the patient record
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
• Communicate respectfully with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to licensed nursing staff

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• State certification or eligibility to work in California
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required
• Comfortable with physical aspects of the role (lifting/assisting patients)
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Availability to work per-diem shifts and flexibility with scheduling

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care fundamentals and activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Accurate vital signs measurement and documentation
• Infection control best practices and PPE use
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Basic charting and familiarity with electronic medical records or paper charts
• Teamwork, time management, and strong observational skills
