Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on basic care to patients including bathing, dressing, and mobility assistance
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team promptly
- Assist with safe patient transfers and positioning to promote comfort and prevent injury
- Support meal assistance and hydration, ensuring patient needs are met with dignity
- Maintain accurate documentation of care and communicate clearly with colleagues
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe patient environment
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential (required)
- Valid state CNA certification (California preferred)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Previous experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Ability to perform physical tasks involved in patient care safely
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completed CNA training program and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamental patient care techniques and safe transfer methods
- Basic vital sign measurement and observation skills
- Familiarity with infection control and standard precautions
- Comfortable with clear, compassionate communication with patients and families
- Basic documentation and charting skills
- Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with nursing staff
