Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency care to patients of all ages
- Perform rapid assessments and prioritize care in a fast-paced ER setting
- Administer medications, start IVs, and manage patient care per protocol
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate urgent treatments
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly and promptly
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans
- Maintain situational awareness and escalate concerns to the care team when needed
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Emergency nursing experience preferred; confidence in triage and acute care
- Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to make sound, timely decisions
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-acuity environments
- Willingness to work per diem shifts and adapt to unit workflows
Education
- Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ADN or BSN) — BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Triage and emergency assessment skills
- IV therapy, medication administration, and basic procedures
- Familiarity with ER workflows and rapid patient turnover
- Ability to prioritize and multitask under pressure
- Clear, timely clinical documentation and charting skills
- Strong collaboration and interdisciplinary communication
