Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients with skill and compassion during overnight coverage
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
• Triage changes in condition and escalate to the care team as needed
• Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth transitions
• Provide patient and family education in a clear, respectful way
• Maintain meticulous clinical documentation in the electronic chart
• Support unit flow by admitting, transferring, and discharging patients efficiently

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or eligibility to obtain one
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred
• Per-diem or acute care nursing experience, MST experience a plus
• Comfort working overnight 12-hour shifts and handling urgent situations
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Current immunizations and compliance with facility credentialing requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical assessment and critical thinking for acute care patients
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
• Ability to prioritize and triage during busy overnight shifts
• Calm decision-making under pressure and effective patient/family communication
• Teamwork, reliability, and professionalism in a fast-paced environment
