Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
- Support safe transfers and mobility while using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Measure and document vital signs and report any changes in condition to the nursing team promptly
- Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to residents and their families
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and communicate effectively with teammates
- Follow infection control practices and safety protocols to promote a healthy environment
Qualifications
- Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
- Comfortable working with older adults and supporting their daily needs
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Per diem availability and flexibility for shift coverage
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Geriatric Nursing Assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with geriatric care needs and resident-focused care
- Ability to assist with ADLs and safe patient handling
- Basic vital signs measurement and documentation skills
- Understanding of infection control and safety procedures
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents, families, and staff
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
