Location: Silver Spring, MD
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem schedule, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Evening shift) - days scheduled as needed
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide warm, respectful direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs and changes in resident condition with attention to detail
- Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with residents, families, and the care team
- Document care accurately in the chart and report any concerns to nursing staff
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
- Participate in team huddles and follow care plans to support positive outcomes
Qualifications
- Current GNA / Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification (required)
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing a plus
- Able to pass background checks, TB screening, and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs accurately
- Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling
- Basic charting and documentation skills; familiarity with electronic records a plus
- Good observation skills and ability to report clinical changes
- Team-oriented with strong interpersonal and time-management abilities
