Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, promoting dignity and comfort
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Observe and report changes in condition to nursing staff in a timely manner
- Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with the care team
- Support a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents and colleagues
- Engage residents with empathy and activities that enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Comfort working with older adults and a caring bedside manner
- Able to pass required background check and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families
- Basic infection control and safety practices
- Ability to follow care plans and accurately document observations
- Safe patient handling and mobility assistance techniques
