Shift Type: Night shift, 3x12 (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), typically 3 nights per week with every-other-weekend coverage required (Night)

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity ICU care for adult and geriatric patients, including ventilator and tracheostomy management
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and arterial blood gases, intervening promptly for deterioration
- Administer and manage IV therapies, blood products, vasoactive drips (no titration), and PICC line care
- Respond as an empowered member of Rapid Response/Code teams to stabilize patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — respiratory therapy, PT, pharmacy, radiology, and social services — to deliver coordinated care
- Document patient care accurately and timely in Epic to support safe handoffs and continuity
- Educate patients and families on procedures, treatments, and discharge planning in a compassionate manner
- Maintain strict isolation precautions and infection control practices to keep patients and staff safe
Qualifications
- Active California RN license required (pending licenses are not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of true ICU nursing experience — float or med-surg-only experience will not be accepted
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and LA City Fire Card
- Comfortable and experienced in telemetry, ventilator care, tracheostomy care, ABG interpretation, and cardiac monitoring
- Able to work a 3x12 night schedule and every-other-weekend coverage
- Epic charting experience is a plus
- First-time travel nurses are welcome if they meet ICU experience requirements
Knowledge & Skills
- Critical care and ICU nursing fundamentals: ventilator management, sepsis care, post-MI care
- Cardiac rhythm and dysrhythmia interpretation and emergency response
- IV therapy, PICC line management, blood product administration, and peripheral line care
- Respiratory supports: BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, non-invasive airway management, and tracheostomy care
- Familiarity with telemetry (unit and remote monitoring) and rapid response/code team protocols
- Basic wound care skills including wound VAC and surgical drain management
- Hemodialysis pre/post care and renal failure management basics
- Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and clear patient-family communication
