Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT exams and diagnostic X-rays across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Prepare and administer contrast media safely, following facility protocols and radiation safety guidelines
- Start peripheral IVs when needed to facilitate imaging procedures
- Operate and troubleshoot scanners from GE/Hitachi/Philips/Siemens/Toshiba and manage images in PACS
- Provide image post-processing including multiplanar reconstruction and vascular CTA support
- Assist with special procedures such as biopsies, aspirations, brain perfusion studies and drainages
- Document care and imaging in Epic accurately and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
- Deliver compassionate, age-appropriate care across the lifespan from pediatrics to geriatrics
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of CT/X-ray technologist experience (inpatient and/or outpatient experience required)
- Recent experience with X-rays is required — clinician will assist with X-rays on the weekends (HARDSTOP)
- ARRT CT and/or ARRT R preferred
- BLS certification preferred
- Proven experience with CT scanners and PACS; familiarity with GE, Hitachi, Philips, Siemens or Toshiba
- Comfortable with contrast administration and starting peripheral IVs
- Experience charting in Epic preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of CT protocols, radiation safety and isolation precautions/PPE
- Skilled in contrast media preparation and administration
- Proficient with PACS and image post-processing (multiplanar reconstruction/MPR)
- Experience performing vascular CTA, biopsies, aspirations, brain perfusion and drainages
- Ability to perform diagnostic radiography (X-rays) in varied settings including ED and outpatient
- Familiarity with equipment operation, troubleshooting and interdisciplinary communication
