Shift Type: Night shift, 3x12-hour schedule (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), 3 nights per week; every-other-weekend coverage required (night/NOC)

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor critically ill adult patients using advanced cardiac and respiratory assessment skills
- Manage ventilated patients, tracheostomy care, and high-acuity respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP and HFNC
- Provide telemetry monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias to support rapid, lifesaving interventions
- Administer IV therapies and blood products, manage PICC and peripheral lines, and start/maintain IVs safely
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, PT, pharmacy and rapid response teams
- Respond to codes and rapid responses with calm, expert clinical action
- Document accurately in Epic to ensure continuity of care and clear communication
- Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a patient-centered, safety-first culture
Qualifications
- Active RN license (no pending licenses accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of ICU or critical care nursing experience (true ICU RN required; float-only ICU experience not accepted)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- NIHSS and LA Fire Card required
- Experience with mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
- Proficient with telemetry monitoring, arterial blood gas interpretation, and dysrhythmia recognition
- Familiarity with Epic charting
- Ability to manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration), blood product administration, and complex IV therapy
- First-time travel nurses welcomed; locals accepted
Knowledge & Skills
- ICU-level assessment and rapid clinical decision-making
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Mechanical ventilation and tracheostomy care
- Telemetry monitoring (unit and remote)
- ABG interpretation and respiratory management
- IV therapy, PICC care, peripheral line management and blood product administration
- Management of chest tubes, surgical drains and wound/VAC care
- Experience with feeding tubes, IV insulin protocols, dialysis care pre/post hemodialysis
- Comfort working with Rapid Response/Code teams and emergency interventions
- Epic electronic charting proficiency
