Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality EEG exams and assist neurologists and neuro technologists with EMGs and clinic visits
• Prepare patients and equipment, explain procedures clearly, and obtain accurate patient histories
• Produce precise, clinically meaningful EEG reports emphasizing observations that help patient care
• Recognize and eliminate artifacts and carry out routine activation procedures like hyperventilation
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment to ensure reliable test results
• Verify MD orders, confirm patient identity, and follow infection control and safety procedures
• Respond appropriately to patient emergencies and work collaboratively with the clinical team

Qualifications

• 2+ years of EEG and/or EMG experience (required)
• EMG/neurodiagnostic clinical experience (required)
• Active ABRET certification (required)
• Active American Heart Association BLS (required)
• Demonstrated working knowledge of clinical neurology and electroencephalography
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• Ability to provide required documentation: current skills checklist (within 1 year), two supervisory references with dates, and permanent address (note: applicants within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible)
• Applicants who were direct employees of the facility within the last 2 years are not eligible

Education

• Completion of accredited EEG/Neurodiagnostic technologist training or equivalent clinical experience
• ABRET certification required; BLS (AHA) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency performing EEG, EMG, and nerve conduction studies (NCV)
• Artifact recognition and correction, activation procedures, and EEG report generation
• Strong patient preparation and communication skills
• Familiarity with infection control practices and emergency response
• Comfort using Cerner EMR and maintaining accurate documentation
• Understanding of medication effects on EEG and basic clinical neurology concepts
