Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients using objective measures to establish baselines and plan care
- Develop individualized treatment plans focused on improving strength, ROM, endurance, and function
- Deliver therapeutic exercise, modalities, and activity-based interventions with clinical precision
- Document assessments, plans, progress, and discharge summaries in a timely, professional manner
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care
- Provide education and coaching to patients and families to promote safe independence and recovery
- Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and department meetings to enhance care delivery
- Mentor and guide support staff and students when applicable to foster a learning environment
Qualifications
- Graduate of an APTA-accredited Physical Therapy program (required)
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy required; Master’s degree in Physical Therapy preferred
- Current, valid New Hampshire Physical Therapy license (required)
- BLS (AHA) certification (required)
- PT Compact licensure allowed
- Clinical experience or strong interest in orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation
- Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and documentation skills
Education
- Graduate of APTA-accredited program
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy (required)
- Master's degree in Physical Therapy (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient evaluation and goal-oriented treatment planning
- Therapeutic exercise prescription and progression
- Familiarity with physical modalities and functional training
- Orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation approaches
- Safe use of rehab equipment and assistive devices
- Strong patient/family education and motivational skills
- Interdisciplinary teamwork and professional communication
- Compliance with clinical documentation and regulatory standards
