Shift Type: 4 10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (typical 4x10 schedule). Day shift with weekend rotation (typically every 3rd weekend, possibly every other weekend) and holiday rotation as part of staffing.

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop individualized physical therapy treatment plans focused on functional recovery
• Deliver hands-on and therapeutic interventions for cardiac, stroke, ortho, ICU, neuro and med-surg patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nurses, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy to optimize patient outcomes
• Document assessments, interventions and progress in Cerner accurately and timely
• Provide patient and family education to support safe discharge and continued recovery
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled to ensure 7-day coverage
• Serve as a clinical resource and coordinate with PT aides and team leaders to ensure efficient patient care

Qualifications

• Current California Physical Therapy license required
• BLS certification required
• COVID-19 vaccination required (per site policy)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty practice and at least 1 year of acute care hospital experience
• Experience with Cerner or other acute care EMRs strongly preferred
• Comfort working with a variety of patient populations including cardiac, stroke, ortho, ICU and neuro
• Open to first-time travelers — supportive onboarding provided

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong acute care and rehabilitation PT skills
• Experience with cardiac, stroke, orthopedic, ICU and neuro patient populations
• Familiarity with Cerner charting and acute care documentation standards
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Competence supervising PT aides and coordinating care across shifts
• Knowledge of safe patient handling and mobility strategies
