Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality orthopedic nursing care to post-op and medical-surgical orthopedic patients
• Perform dressing changes, suture and staple removals, and Wound VAC maintenance
• Manage Foley catheters and NG tube care safely and accurately
• Document patient care and assessments promptly in Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on post-op care, mobility, and discharge instructions
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in condition with clinical judgment
• Support unit flow while maintaining patient ratios and safe standards of care

Qualifications

• Active NC nursing license (required)
• Registered Nurse (RN) with current clinical experience
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (per job posting)
• Hospital and/or orthopedic surgery experience preferred
• Comfortable working night shifts and every-other-weekend rotations

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong orthopedic and post-operative nursing skills
• Experience with wound care and wound vac management
• Competence in Foley catheter and NG tube management
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical record system
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt as a team player
• Good assessment, documentation, and patient education skills
