Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough pre-anesthesia assessments and develop individualized anesthesia care plans
- Administer anesthesia safely across modalities: general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care
- Monitor patients closely during procedures and intervene promptly to manage anesthesia-related complications
- Provide attentive post-anesthesia care and effective pain management
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards
- Collaborate seamlessly with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and the perioperative team to deliver excellent patient care
- Travel to other ambulatory surgery sites when needed and adapt to different procedural settings
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
- Active state nursing license appropriate for practice in Michigan
- Current board certification required; candidates with lapsed board certification or new graduates are not eligible
- Ambulatory surgery center experience preferred; comfortable with a variety of case types including ortho, plastic, urology, GYN, ophthalmology, podiatry, dental, pediatrics, and endoscopy
- Willingness to travel to other ambulatory sites as needed
- Commitment to work within a reasonable local commute (not open to candidates commuting more than one hour)
- Not open to Locum or Locum to Perm candidates
- Open to H1B and J1 visa candidates
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in anesthesia administration for adults, geriatrics, and pediatrics
- Proficiency with general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care techniques
- Strong patient monitoring skills and ability to manage intraoperative changes
- Solid post-anesthesia pain management strategies
- Excellent clinical documentation practices aligned with hospital and regulatory expectations
- Effective interdisciplinary communication and teamwork with surgeons and anesthesia colleagues
- Familiarity with ambulatory surgery center workflows and case variety
