Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (primarily nights): 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM NOC; guaranteed 36 hours/week; weekend coverage every 3rd weekend (may be up to every other) and holiday coverage (1 major, 1 minor).

Roles & Responsibilities
- Circulate in the OR during C‑sections and support the surgical team with safe, efficient care
- Provide compassionate labor and delivery nursing using AWHONN guidelines (1:1–2 labors; 1:2–3 antepartum)
- Perform normal newborn assessments and routine infant care, supporting mom–baby transitions
- Float to Postpartum when needed to care for both mother and newborn and assist with education
- Monitor fetal status using electronic fetal monitoring (Obix) and escalate concerns proactively
- Safely titrate drips (Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, pain meds) and document per protocol
- Chart accurately in EPIC and communicate effectively with providers, residents, CRNAs and the care team
- Model unit policies (including fingernail/artificial nail policy) and maintain professional standards
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state of practice or compact privileges as applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (Labor & Delivery experience preferred)
- Certifications required: BLS, NRP, Intro to Fetal Monitoring
- Must be able to circulate in the OR and perform normal newborn assessments
- Valid driver's license required at submittal (radius rule applies: candidates must be outside 50 miles and not employed PRN/part-time/full-time at CommonSpirit facilities)
- Willingness to float to Postpartum and occasionally act as a sitter
Education
- Active RN license required (ADN or BSN acceptable; BSN not explicitly required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong fetal monitoring skills and familiarity with Obix EFM systems
- Proficiency with EPIC charting and accurate documentation
- Competence in newborn assessment and routine baby care
- Experience titrating drips and managing obstetric medications
- Ability to circulate in the OR and collaborate with surgical teams
- Excellent teamwork, positive attitude, flexibility and eagerness to learn
- Comfort working with high-risk OB and routine obstetric patient populations
