Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM (Fridays 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM) Day shift, occasional float to acute inpatient as needed
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat inpatient orthopedic, neurologic and medically complex patients using evidence-based techniques
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care with clear short- and long-term goals
- Provide gait training, balance interventions and assistive device training to promote safe mobility
- Deliver patient- and family-centered education, including home exercise programs and discharge planning
- Perform timely, accurate documentation and reassessments to track progress and outcomes
- Collaborate with nursing, physicians and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient care
- Utilize modalities such as cryotherapy and hydrotherapy where appropriate to support recovery
- Assist with safe patient transfers and mobility using proper body mechanics and equipment
Qualifications
- Active or eligible California Physical Therapist (PT) licensure
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT preferred)
- BLS certification (preferred)
- Manual therapy training preferred
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred; new grads may be considered
- Comfort working with adult and geriatric populations, and with neuro and ortho diagnoses
- Spanish-speaking clinicians preferred but not required
- Ability to float occasionally to acute inpatient side as needed
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred)
- Relevant continuing education in orthopedics, neurology or manual therapy is a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with AROM/AAROM/PROM and therapeutic exercise prescription
- Skilled in gait training and use of assistive devices (crutches, walkers, gait belts)
- Experience with home exercise program design and patient/family education
- Competent documented assessments, evaluations, plans of care and reassessments
- Familiarity with orthopedic post-op care (TKA, THA, RCR, spinal surgeries, ACL, arthroscopies)
- Knowledge of neurological diagnoses including CVA, Parkinson's and TBI rehabilitation
- Comfort using modalities such as cryotherapy and hydrotherapy
- Strong time management and caseload prioritization skills
