Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour nights per week (schedule varies), 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; may include every-other weekend and occasional weekend coverage as needed
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity critical care to adult and geriatric patients in an ICU setting, maintaining a 1:2 patient ratio
- Manage advanced hemodynamic monitoring including arterial and central lines, CRRT, and invasive devices
- Deliver ventilator management and respiratory support, including HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and suctioning
- Administer and titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips, continuous IV sedation, and other complex medication regimens
- Perform procedural support such as sheath removal, temporary pacemaker management, and assist with chest tube care
- Use Epic for accurate and timely charting and handoffs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — respiratory therapy, pharmacy, PT, radiology and more — to optimize patient outcomes
- Practice infection prevention, isolation precautions, and safe blood product administration
Qualifications
- Active RN license for practice in California (pending licenses are not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required; 3 years of critical care/high-acuity ICU experience highly preferred
- ICU experience within the past year is required
- Current ACLS and BLS (BCLS) certifications required; NIHSS required
- Experience with 1:2 patient ratios and high-acuity patient care
- Comfort floating between like units (DSU) as needed
- Ability to complete 24 hours of orientation and meet facility submission requirements (RTO included at time of submission)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in Epic charting and electronic documentation
- Strong skills in mechanical ventilation and respiratory support
- Hemodynamic monitoring, interpretation of ABGs, and cardiac dysrhythmia recognition
- Central and arterial line care and management, PICC and port handling
- CRRT knowledge and care for patients with renal failure
- Familiarity with advanced cardiac supports such as IABP, VADs, TAVR post-op care, and temporary pacemakers
- Experience with targeted temperature management/hypothermia protocols and neuro ICU care including EVD/ICP monitoring
- Skilled in titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips, blood product administration, and procedural sedation monitoring
