Roles & Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver exceptional patient-centered care across medical-surgical, outpatient, observation and swing-bed settings
• Perform thorough patient assessments and use the Nursing Process to make critical clinical decisions
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document care clearly and promptly
• Collaborate closely with Unit Director, Clinical Nurse Lead and nursing team to ensure continuity of care
• Provide compassionate care to adult patients and occasional pediatric patients when needed
• Lead and participate in care coordination and discharge planning to support positive outcomes
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and evidence-based practices

Qualifications

• Current Vermont RN licensure or valid multi-state RN licensure (required before start)
• Minimum 3 years acute care nursing experience (Med/Surg experience required)
• BLS (American Heart Association) certification (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• Experience with Meditech preferred
• Ability to upload all required credentials five business days prior to start
• Comfort working primarily with adult patients; able to care for occasional pediatric patients (this is NOT a pediatric-only floor)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of the Nursing Process and clinical decision-making
• Proficiency in patient assessment and acute care interventions
• Experience with medical-surgical nursing, inpatient and outpatient care
• Familiarity with swing bed and observation care processes
• Care coordination, teamwork and clear communication skills
• Experience with electronic health records (Meditech preferred)
