Roles & Responsibilities
- Room patients efficiently and compassionately, taking accurate vital signs and histories
- Perform 12-lead EKG/ECG and pulse oximetry to support cardiology assessments
- Prepare charts and maintain EPIC documentation so providers have what they need
- Handle telephone triage and inbasket items to keep patient care moving smoothly
- Complete authorization forms, insurance verifications, and pharmacy refill requests
- Support clinic flow by floating to nearby satellite sites as needed (scheduled in advance)
- Communicate clearly with patients and the care team to ensure a positive patient experience
- Contribute to a safe clinic environment by following policies, infection control, and BLS protocols
Qualifications
- Minimum: 6 months experience working as a Medical Assistant (0.5 years)
- EPIC experience is required — familiarity with charting and inbasket workflows
- BLS certification required
- MA-C preferred; MA-R accepted
- At least a GED is required
- Reliable private transportation required (public transit is not sufficient)
- Comfortable working with adult and geriatric patient populations
- Willingness to float between clinics (Bellevue, Ballard, Edmonds, Redmond) when scheduled
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- MA-C certification preferred (MA-R accepted)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with EPIC charting and electronic documentation
- Skilled in taking vital signs, height/weight, and pulse oximetry
- Experienced performing 12-lead EKG/ECG
- Able to complete authorization forms and insurance verification
- Comfortable with telephone triage and pharmacy refill calls
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
- Team-oriented attitude and flexibility to support nearby clinics
