Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality general CT exams, including CT abdomen/pelvis and head CT, ensuring diagnostic image quality
- Execute advanced CT procedures such as CT Angio, PE studies, stroke protocols, and Triple Rule Out with confidence
- Operate and troubleshoot Siemens and GE CT scanners while following unit safety and dose protocols
- Manage image transfer and retrieval using AGFA PACS and GE Centricity RIS for timely physician review
- Document procedures and patient interactions in the EMR (Meditech) accurately and professionally
- Provide compassionate patient care in the ED setting, prioritizing comfort, safety, and clear communication
- Collaborate with radiology staff and ED clinicians to expedite urgent imaging needs and patient flow
Qualifications
- ARRT (CT) certification required
- Active Texas Medical Board authorization required
- Minimum 1 year of CT technologist experience (ED experience strongly preferred)
- Proven experience with CT Angio, PE protocols, and stroke imaging
- Comfortable using Siemens and GE CT systems and working with Meditech, AGFA PACS, and GE Centricity RIS
- Able to work weekend night shifts in an ED environment and function well on a team
Knowledge & Skills
- General CT techniques and protocols
- CT Angio and CT PE imaging
- CT abdomen/pelvis and head CT protocols, including stroke and Triple Rule Out exams
- Hands-on experience with Siemens and GE CT scanners
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR, AGFA PACS, and GE Centricity RIS
- Strong patient care, positioning, and radiation safety practices
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced ED environment and communicate with multidisciplinary teams
