Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide professional, compassionate nursing care to outpatient cardiology patients following established standards and practices
- Coordinate patient care with providers and clinic staff to ensure seamless, high-quality service
- Serve as the primary liaison between patients, providers and clinic teams to support clear communication
- Perform and interpret EKGs and monitor cardiac rhythms, escalating concerns as needed
- Administer and manage cardiac medications under provider guidance and monitor patient responses
- Assist providers during procedures and in clinic workflows to enhance patient safety and efficiency
- Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, medications, and follow-up care
- Document accurately in the medical record and participate in quality improvement activities
Qualifications
- Active MT Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Preferred: at least 2 years of cardiac nursing experience
- Ability to pass pre-employment screening: criminal background check, drug screen, and health/immunization screening
- Strong communication skills and comfort working as a patient care liaison
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Knowledge & Skills
- EKG interpretation and understanding of cardiac arrhythmias
- Knowledge of cardiac medications and related procedures
- Basic coronary class familiarity
- Medical terminology and basic nursing principles and procedures
- Patient care coordination and triage skills
- Basic office skills and key boarding/data entry abilities
- Comfort working in a team-focused, outpatient clinic environment
