Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, patient-centered anesthesia care for a wide variety of inpatient surgical procedures
- Perform thorough preoperative assessments and provide clear patient education before surgery
- Administer anesthetics and closely monitor patients throughout procedures to ensure optimal outcomes
- Document all anesthesia care accurately in Epic EMR so the whole team stays informed
- Collaborate seamlessly with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and perioperative staff to coordinate care
- Respond effectively to intraoperative and perioperative emergencies as part of the trauma team
- Contribute to ongoing quality improvement and patient safety initiatives that make care better each day
Qualifications
- Current Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) credential required
- Active RN license in Michigan or eligibility to obtain one prior to start
- Current, active board certification (not accepting candidates with lapsed certification requiring re-obtainment)
- Clinical experience in inpatient anesthesia required — new graduates are not eligible
- Proficiency with Epic EMR for anesthesia documentation
- Experience or comfort working in a Level 1 trauma center environment
- Willingness and ability to maintain a commute under one hour (position not open to long-distance commuters)
- Not open to Locum or Locum-to-Perm candidates; open to H1B and J1 visa holders
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in anesthesia care for diverse inpatient surgical cases
- Perioperative patient assessment and preoperative planning
- Strong patient monitoring and intraoperative management skills
- Accurate anesthesia documentation and familiarity with Epic EMR workflows
- Effective teamwork and communication with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and perioperative staff
- Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice
- Ability to respond calmly and competently in trauma and emergency situations
