Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, typical day shift 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM; schedule includes call rotations and may include weekends (day-focused schedule with rotation)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality post-anesthesia care to surgical patients, ensuring safe recovery and smooth transitions
- Continuously monitor vital signs and bedside monitors, intervening promptly for hemodynamic changes
- Manage invasive lines such as arterial lines and assist with airway support as needed
- Collaborate closely with anesthesia, surgeons, and the PACU team to coordinate patient care
- Accurately document patient assessments and interventions in Meditech
- Educate patients and families about immediate post-op care and recovery expectations
- Contribute to a positive patient experience and unit goals, including OAS CAHPS initiatives
- Support unit teamwork in an environment staffed by RNs without dedicated tech or unit secretary support
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in the state (required)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; at least 1 year of ICU or PACU experience (explicit requirement)
- BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications (required)
- Experience with bedside monitors, arterial line management and post-op nursing skills
- Meditech documentation experience preferred
- CCRN and CAPA certifications preferred but not required
- Comfort working in a fast-paced PACU with a 1:2 patient ratio and limited ancillary staff
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong post-anesthesia assessment and recovery skills
- Familiarity with invasive monitoring (A-lines) and bedside monitoring systems
- Basic airway/respiratory support knowledge and ability to assist with intubations when required
- Proficient documentation practices in electronic health records (Meditech)
- Ability to prioritize and triage patients in a dynamic PACU environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork when coordinating with anesthesia and surgical teams
- Adaptability to rotating 12-hour schedules and call rotations
