Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized plans of care that help patients progress
• Deliver evidence-based gait training, balance work, and therapeutic exercise programs
• Provide skilled post-op orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation interventions in both outpatient and inpatient settings
• Document assessments, progress notes, and discharge plans clearly and timely
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe transfer/lifting techniques
• Use modalities such as cryotherapy and hydrotherapy appropriately to support recovery
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and float to acute inpatient side when patient needs arise

Qualifications

• Minimum ~1 year clinical experience preferred (will consider slightly less experience)
• Experience in both inpatient acute care/rehab and outpatient clinic settings preferred
• BLS certification preferred
• Manual therapy skills preferred
• Spanish-speaking clinicians encouraged to apply (preferred but not required)
• Comfort with patient populations including orthopedics, post-op care, neurological diagnoses (CVA, Parkinson’s, TBI), and general deconditioning
• Willingness to float occasionally to acute inpatient side as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment, reassessments, and producing clear plans of care
• Proficient with therapeutic exercise prescription, gait training, and assistive device use
• Experience with AROM/AAROM/PROM, pain assessment, and body mechanics education
• Familiarity with modalities such as cryotherapy and hydrotherapy (aquatic therapy experience a plus)
• Good time management, documentation, and discharge planning abilities
• Comfortable with patient handling, lifting and transfers, and use of common equipment (walkers, crutches, gait belts, sliding boards)
