Shift Type: Primarily night shifts on a rotating 12-hour schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (primary) or 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM; schedule rotates across Monday–Sunday with every-other-weekend requirement; self-scheduling and float to Med/Surg/PCU as needed

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult oncology, PCU and trauma patients on a mixed stepdown/med-surg unit
- Administer and monitor chemotherapy and other high-acuity therapies per policy and competency
- Manage IV pumps (Alaris) and titrate drips such as insulin and cardizem while closely monitoring hemodynamics
- Monitor invasive lines and advanced hemodynamic devices (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000) and escalate changes in condition
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (PT/OT, case management, social work, educator, dietician) to support recovery and discharge planning
- Perform hourly rounding and contribute to excellent patient experience and safety initiatives
- Float to med/surg and PCU units as needed while maintaining standards of care for assigned patients
- Complete orientation competencies and pass the required open-book skills exam (90% required to continue)
Qualifications
- Current RN licensure (eligible to practice in Nebraska) — license to submit required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (PCU/Oncology and stepdown experience highly preferred)
- ACLS and BLS (AHA) required; NIHSS required
- ONS/ONCC certification required (chemotherapy certification preferred but not required)
- Experience with EPIC charting preferred (have EPIC within 6 months noted at submission)
- Competence or willingness to be trained in ventilator care and advanced hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000, ICP)
- Comfort titrating drips (insulin occasionally, cardizem) and managing infusion pumps (Alaris)
- Driver's license required at submittal and candidates must reside within 50 miles of facility or meet radius rules
- Comply with facility policies (e.g., artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas)
- OK for first-time travelers
Education
- Active RN license in the practicing state (Nebraska)
- ADN or BSN accepted (BSN not required for submission)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong oncology and PCU clinical knowledge and the ability to care for mixed acuity adult patients
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record workflows and documentation
- Skilled with Alaris IV pumps and chemotherapy administration processes
- Competence in hemodynamic monitoring and interpreting invasive line data
- Ability to manage ventilator-supported patients and respond to critical changes
- Safe patient handling experience and use of lift equipment (Lyko lifts and other devices)
- Excellent communication, teamwork and patient-centered bedside manner
