Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess respiratory status and deliver evidence-based respiratory care to patients across the lifespan
- Manage ventilators and advanced airway therapies with precision and attention to safety
- Respond rapidly to respiratory emergencies and participate in code and rapid response teams
- Perform and document specialty-specific competency tasks and skills checklists
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and adjust care plans
- Maintain accurate patient records, equipment checks, and infection control practices
Qualifications
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required
- NRP certification required
- License/Certificate Verification required (state Respiratory Therapist license as applicable)
- Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist prior to start
- Current immunizations and health screenings as listed by facility (COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, 2-step PPD or IGRA, fit test, drug screen, physical/health statement)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of ventilator management and airway support
- Proficiency in neonatal and pediatric resuscitation principles (NRP and PALS)
- Skilled in respiratory assessment, diagnostic testing, and treatment planning
- Familiarity with infection control practices and documentation standards
- Ability to work effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
