Shift Type: Rotating nights, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM NOC (overnight); schedule varies to meet department needs, every other weekend required
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $69 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to trauma, stroke and high-acuity patients
- Perform rapid triage, patient assessment and continuous monitoring in a busy ED
- Document care accurately and efficiently using Cerner
- Operate and manage bedside equipment such as Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitors
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, coach peers, and give real-time feedback to support safe patient care
- Deliver outstanding patient experience using AIDET and respectful communication—keep patients and families informed
- Follow unit-specific policies and participate in mandatory orientation and certification processes
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the appropriate state
- Minimum 2 years’ nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
- Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and a high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) required
- Required certifications prior to start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
- ENPC required within 90 days of hire
- Previous HCA experience preferred
- Ability to work all areas of the ED and float within the department (no floating outside ED)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong emergency nursing and trauma/stroke management skills
- Proficient with Cerner documentation and electronic charting
- Experience with triage workflows and cardiac monitoring
- Comfortable using Baxter pumps and GE bedside monitors
- Excellent teamwork, coaching, and on-the-spot feedback skills
- Patient-centered communication and AIDET practices
