Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to long term care residents
- Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on schedule
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate resident care
- Document resident status, interventions, and outcomes clearly and timely
- Advocate for residents and support family communication and education
- Promote a safe, respectful, and home-like environment for all residents
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license for New York state required
- Experience in long term care or similar settings preferred
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; advanced certifications a plus
- Strong patient assessment, clinical judgment, and communication skills
- Ability to work 10-hour day shifts and adapt quickly in a short-term contract role
Education
- Active RN license in New York required; ADN or BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough knowledge of long term care nursing practices and standards
- Skilled in medication administration and documentation
- Proficient in wound care, ADL support, and chronic disease management
- Comfortable using electronic medical records and charting systems
- Strong interpersonal skills for resident-centered care and team collaboration
