Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic CT scans with attention to patient comfort and image accuracy
- Operate and maintain CT equipment safely, adhering to manufacturer and facility protocols
- Position patients correctly and explain procedures clearly to reduce anxiety and motion artifact
- Collaborate with radiologists and the clinical team to ensure timely imaging and reporting
- Follow radiation safety best practices to protect patients and staff
- Document exam details and manage images in PACS with accuracy and professionalism
- Assist with contrast administration and monitor patient responses per protocol
Qualifications
- ARRT (CT) certification or ARRT registered CRT/Radiologic Technologist with CT training
- State Radiologic Technologist license for Texas or ability to obtain prior to start
- Minimum 1 year of CT experience (diagnostic CT experience preferred)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong patient care skills and excellent communication with multidisciplinary teams
Education
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology, Radiography certificate, or equivalent; ARRT certification preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven knowledge of CT cross-sectional anatomy and imaging protocols
- Familiarity with PACS, DICOM workflows, and image archiving
- Skill in patient positioning, immobilization, and contrast administration monitoring
- Understanding of radiation safety principles and dose optimization
- Ability to troubleshoot common scanner issues and perform routine QA checks
- Comfort working in fast-paced emergency/acute care environments
