Shift Type: Nights; 12-hour night shifts (night shift), guaranteed 36 hours/week. Weekend requirement: every other weekend (nights: Fri & Sat). Block scheduling available upon request. Standby response time when placed on-call: 45 minutes.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Attend and manage labor and deliveries independently, providing safe, patient-centered care
- Circulate in C-sections and assist in the OR to support surgical teams and newborn transition
- Assist with newborn catching and initial stabilization/resuscitation, following NRP protocols
- Provide comprehensive triage and assessment for antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum patients
- Titrate drips (magnesium, pitocin, insulin) safely and per established protocols
- Deliver high-quality postpartum and couplet care, supporting families during the transition home
- Document accurately and efficiently in EPIC to maintain continuity of care
- Collaborate with OB/hospitalist, anesthesia, neonatal providers and unit colleagues for seamless care
- Function in mother-baby and postpartum areas as needed while staying within department scope
Qualifications
- Active RN licensure for Washington State or ability to obtain prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience (will consider 1 year with multiple prior travel assignments)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (must be current)
- Must have LDRP (labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum) experience and be comfortable attending deliveries independently
- Experience circulating/assisting in C-sections and helping with newborn transition/catching
- Comfortable titrating drips (magnesium, pitocin, insulin) and managing high-acuity obstetric patients
- EPIC charting experience preferred; familiarity with Centricity Perinatal (EFM) is a plus
- Intermediate/advanced fetal heart monitoring (FHM) preferred
- No first-time travelers accepted; Director requests two years of references with each submittal
Education
- Active RN license (required)
- ADN or BSN accepted; BSN preferred but not required
- Current BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven skills in electronic fetal monitoring (Centricity Perinatal) and fetal heart strip interpretation
- Strong newborn transition/resuscitation skills (NRP-level competence)
- Competence in triage assessment and prioritization for laboring and postpartum patients
- Comfort with C-section workflow and OR communication
- Ability to titrate common OB drips and understand related infusion protocols
- Effective EPIC documentation and electronic charting practices
- Team-oriented communication with OBs, anesthesia, NNPs/NNPs and unit staff
- Adaptability to unit workflows, policies and feedback from leadership
