Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients thoroughly and synthesize findings to drive safe perioperative care
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care in the operating room setting
• Provide clear patient and family education before and after procedures
• Serve as a clinical leader in the OR: coordinate the team, promote safety, and model best practices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary colleagues to optimize patient outcomes, especially for stroke patients
• Maintain and demonstrate competency in circulating and scrub roles as needed
• Use data and evidence to evaluate and improve nursing practice and workflow
• Adhere to policies, protocols, and regulatory standards while promoting a safe environment

Qualifications

• Active Montana RN license (required)
• American Heart Association BLS (required)
• American Heart Association ACLS (required)
• Minimum 18 months of Registered Nurse experience (required)
• CNOR credential preferred
• 1 year circulating experience preferred
• 1 year scrub experience preferred
• Stroke competency training within one year of hire and annual stroke education participation

Education

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Nursing preferred
• Associate degree or Nursing Diploma accepted

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and diagnosis in the perioperative environment
• Care planning and execution for surgical patients
• Operating Room (OR) nursing: circulating and scrub skills
• Stroke care protocols and cerebrovascular disease knowledge
• Clinical leadership, teamwork, and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Strong judgment, decision-making, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Professional communication, confidentiality, and emotional intelligence
• Quality improvement and evidence-based practice integration
