Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality general diagnostic X-ray and orthopedic imaging to support accurate diagnoses
- Position patients safely and efficiently, ensuring excellent image quality and patient comfort
- Operate and maintain the Carestream Ascend imaging system and follow PACS workflows (Change Healthcare / Cerner)
- Manage a steady workload (approximately 30–80 studies per day) while maintaining attention to detail
- Follow radiation safety protocols and maintain accurate patient and exam documentation in Cerner
- Collaborate with radiology staff and report to the Radiology Supervisor to ensure smooth department operations
- Provide compassionate patient care and clear communication with patients and clinical teams
Qualifications
- Certified Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) — required
- AZ DHS Bureau of Special Licensing CRT (Certified Radiologic Technologist) — required
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification — required
- Minimum of 1 year experience in general diagnostic radiology
- Familiarity with PACS workflows and Cerner / Change Healthcare systems
- Comfortable working in a single-room radiology department and handling moderate to high daily volumes
Education
- Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program (Associate degree or certificate) or equivalent training
Knowledge & Skills
- General diagnostic radiology and general X-ray techniques
- Orthopedic imaging positioning and protocol knowledge
- Experience with PACS (Change Healthcare / Cerner) and Carestream Ascend
- Strong patient positioning, image acquisition, and image quality assessment skills
- Knowledge of radiation safety and infection control best practices
- Good communication, teamwork, and time-management skills to handle 30–80 studies/day
