Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor fetal heart tracings and intervene appropriately to promote safe deliveries
• Perform neonatal resuscitation using NRP protocols when needed
• Provide advanced life support interventions following ACLS guidelines
• Deliver high-quality patient care using BLS and unit-specific competencies
• Complete required Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists
• Communicate clearly with families and the care team to ensure coordinated care
• Maintain accurate documentation and assist with transitions of care

Qualifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) — required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) — required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) — required
• AWHONN training or demonstrated fetal heart monitoring competency
• License/Certificate Verification required (per policy)
• Current health screening items as listed (e.g., immunizations, fit test, drug screen)

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Fetal Heart Monitoring and interpretation
• Neonatal resuscitation principles and hands-on skills (NRP)
• Advanced cardiac life support knowledge (ACLS)
• Strong basic life support skills (BLS)
• Familiarity with Trinity specialty competency testing and documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork in fast-paced obstetric/neonatal settings
