Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality bedside care to PCU and Neuro Med/Surg patients
• Prioritize and manage multiple patients safely using strong clinical judgement
• Perform and document telemetry monitoring and timely interventions
• Start IVs, manage wound care, and maintain surgical drains with confidence
• Care for patients with chest tubes and nasogastric tubes according to unit protocols
• Deliver clear bedside shift reports and partner with patients and families on care plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, unit secretaries, and tech support to optimize patient outcomes
• Use Meditech for accurate documentation and handoffs

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg and telemetry nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Comfortable with IV starts, wound care, chest tube and NG tube management
• Experience with bedside shift report and strong patient communication skills
• Ability to float per unit policy and adapt to unit-specific workflows

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Meditech documentation systems
• Telemetry interpretation and monitoring
• Experience with PCA pumps, feeding pumps, IV pumps, and EKG machines
• Familiarity with bladder scanner and iMobile communication technology
• Strong prioritization, multitasking, and time-management skills
• Compassionate patient- and family-centered communication
