Shift Type: Rotating night shifts, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM; schedule may include weekends (staff required to work 6 weekend days per schedule)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based oncology nursing care to adult surgical and oncology patients
- Administer and monitor treatments and therapies while closely tracking patient response and side effects
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the multidisciplinary team to develop and adjust patient care plans
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Cerner to ensure continuity and safety of care
- Perform and assist with unit procedures such as thoracentesis and echocardiography support when required
- Support patient and family education around diagnosis, treatment expectations, and discharge planning
- Adhere to unit guidelines, hospital policies, and infection control standards to maintain a safe environment
- Serve as a team player on a 24-bed unit with typical patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5
Qualifications
- Current RN license (required)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (as indicated in job posting)
- BLS certification (required)
- Experience with Cerner EMR (listed as a primary skill)
- Oncology and med-surg experience preferred
- Chemo certification is a nice-to-have and will be considered a plus
- Comfort with occasional pelvic exams, echo, and thoracentesis procedures
Knowledge & Skills
- Oncology nursing and women’s surgical care
- Medical-surgical nursing principles
- Cerner electronic medical record proficiency
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Familiarity with chemo administration concepts (preferred)
- Experience supporting or assisting with echo and thoracentesis procedures
- Strong teamwork, communication, and patient education skills
