Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert critical care to BMT and oncology ICU patients, ensuring safe, individualized care
- Manage mechanical ventilation and BiPAP support, adjusting settings and monitoring response
- Titrate drips precisely and continuously to maintain hemodynamic stability
- Perform and manage CRRT and arterial line care for patients requiring advanced support
- Deliver total patient care including trach care, dressing changes, turning, and medication administration
- Collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to drive positive outcomes
- Document patient care accurately in Meditech EMR and communicate changes during handoff
- Maintain compassionate rapport with patients and families during high-acuity care moments
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of ICU nursing experience, strong critical care background required
- Current RN license in the United States
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Experience with mechanical ventilation, BiPAP, and titration of drips
- Familiarity with CRRT and arterial line management preferred
- Comfort using Meditech EMR or similar electronic charting systems
- Ability to work rotating nights and weekends with a 2:1 patient ratio
Education
- Active RN license required (associate degree in nursing, diploma, or BSN acceptable)
Knowledge & Skills
- Critical care nursing principles and best practices
- Mechanical ventilation management and BiPAP support
- Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) operation and monitoring
- Arterial line and IV pump management
- Titration of vasoactive drips and hemodynamic monitoring
- Tracheostomy care and advanced airway management
- Meditech EMR charting and clinical documentation
- Strong communication, teamwork, and bedside assessment skills
