Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for laboring and postpartum patients
• Monitor fetal status using Fetal Heart Monitoring and respond promptly to changes
• Perform NIHSS and other neuro assessments when needed to support patient safety
• Deliver neonatal resuscitation using NRP protocols when indicated
• Initiate and participate in Trinity specialty-specific competency testing and skills checklists
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Maintain accurate documentation and complete required health and licensure verifications

Qualifications

• Active RN license with ability to meet license/certificate verification requirements
• NIHSS certification
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• AWHONN and Fetal Heart Monitoring competency
• Ability to complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Current immunizations and health screenings as required (PPD/IGRA, fit test, drug screen, Tdap, MMR, Hep B, COVID-19, influenza, varicella, physical/health statement)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in fetal heart monitoring and maternal-fetal assessment
• Proficient in NIHSS and basic/advanced cardiac life support protocols
• Strong neonatal resuscitation skills (NRP)
• Familiarity with AWHONN guidelines and best practices for obstetric care
• Comfortable with electronic charting systems and accurate clinical documentation
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education abilities
• Ability to complete facility-specific competency testing and follow policies
