Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional, patient-centered critical care nursing for NVICU patients
• Manage ventilators and respiratory needs, including monitoring and titration
• Perform skilled bedside procedures and care for central lines and arterial lines
• Assist with and manage intubation and post-intubation care
• Provide specialized care for patients with EVDs and collaborate with core staff on EVD placement
• Document thoroughly and accurately in the Meditech EMR to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams — physicians, therapists, and support staff — to drive optimal patient outcomes
• Mentor and support colleagues, contributing to a safe, accountable, and caring unit culture

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) credential
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU nursing experience
• Experience with Meditech EMR is preferred
• Comfortable caring for neuro, oncology, BMT, and PCU patients is a plus
• Strong teamwork, accountability, and patient advocacy skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing principles and ICU patient assessment
• Ventilator management and advanced respiratory care
• Central line and arterial line management and troubleshooting
• Intubation support and post-procedure care
• Care for patients with external ventricular drains (EVD)
• Working knowledge of Meditech electronic medical record
• Ability to function in high-acuity, fast-paced environments with a team-first mindset
