Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care across the labor & delivery unit
• Circulate and assist during C-sections and work in scrub/ circulating roles in the OR when needed
• Manage epidurals, spinals and IV drips such as magnesium for high-acuity patients
• Monitor maternal and fetal status and escalate concerns promptly
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and support continuity with the multidisciplinary team
• Float within women’s and children’s service line as staffing requires, adapting quickly to unit needs
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by communicating clearly with families and providers

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state of practice) and current BLS
• Current ACLS and NRP certifications
• AWHONN Fetal Heart Rate Intermediate certification preferred (note: EFM intermediate not universally required by unit)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience preferred
• Experience with C-sections, epidurals, spinals and IV magnesium drips
• Comfortable functioning in fast-paced L&D environments and able to scrub/circulate in the OR
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Labor & Delivery clinical judgment and high-acuity critical thinking
• Surgical assisting and circulating skills for C-sections
• Competence with epidural/spinal care and IV magnesium management
• Ability to work effectively in a Level III NICU environment and coordinate with neonatal teams
• Proficient documentation skills in Meditech
• Flexible teamwork and the ability to float within related service lines
