Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, efficient perioperative nursing care in the operating room, advocating for patient safety at every step
- Prepare the OR environment, equipment, and sterile supplies to support smooth surgical procedures
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiology, and perioperative team members to coordinate care
- Perform and document pre-op and post-op assessments, ensuring patients are informed and comfortable
- Participate in specialty competency testing and skills checklists to maintain high standards
- Maintain accurate patient and procedure documentation in the electronic medical record
- Help mentor and support peers to promote a positive, high-performing team culture
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered RN license (Oregon) — license verification is required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Operating Room experience preferred (RFC or NFC-level OR RN experience a plus)
- Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist as required
- Current fit test and 10-panel drug screen (required during onboarding)
- Up-to-date immunizations and health requirements: Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, 2-step PPD or IGRA
- Ability to pass required pre-employment health screenings and background verification
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong aseptic and sterile technique knowledge for OR settings
- Familiarity with perioperative workflows, instrumentation, and OR etiquette
- Effective communication and teamwork skills under pressure
- Ability to prioritize, anticipate surgical needs, and maintain situational awareness
- Comfortable with electronic charting and documentation practices
