Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, efficient perioperative nursing care in the operating room, advocating for patient safety at every step
• Prepare the OR environment, equipment, and sterile supplies to support smooth surgical procedures
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiology, and perioperative team members to coordinate care
• Perform and document pre-op and post-op assessments, ensuring patients are informed and comfortable
• Participate in specialty competency testing and skills checklists to maintain high standards
• Maintain accurate patient and procedure documentation in the electronic medical record
• Help mentor and support peers to promote a positive, high-performing team culture

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license (Oregon) — license verification is required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
• Operating Room experience preferred (RFC or NFC-level OR RN experience a plus)
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist as required
• Current fit test and 10-panel drug screen (required during onboarding)
• Up-to-date immunizations and health requirements: Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, 2-step PPD or IGRA
• Ability to pass required pre-employment health screenings and background verification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong aseptic and sterile technique knowledge for OR settings
• Familiarity with perioperative workflows, instrumentation, and OR etiquette
• Effective communication and teamwork skills under pressure
• Ability to prioritize, anticipate surgical needs, and maintain situational awareness
• Comfortable with electronic charting and documentation practices
