Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Night); every other weekend, no on-call when not scheduled
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $42 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to newborns in the nursery, including routine assessments and documentation
- Manage Level 2 neonatal care needs such as phototherapy and blood sugar monitoring with confidence
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate and support families on newborn care, feeding, and safe sleep practices in a warm, approachable way
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation using Meditech and CPN systems
- Monitor patient ratios and escalate concerns to charge nurse or provider to ensure safe staffing
- Participate in unit initiatives and quality improvement efforts to enhance newborn outcomes
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with relevant newborn nursery experience
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience (per job posting)
- Current BLS certification (required)
- NRP certification (required)
- STABLE certification (required)
- Mother-baby experience is highly preferred
- Comfortable using Meditech and CPN EMR systems
- Warm, patient-centered communication style; team-focused and adaptable for night shifts
Knowledge & Skills
- Newborn assessment and routine newborn care
- Level 2 neonatal care: phototherapy and blood sugar monitoring
- Familiarity with nursery patient ratios (approximately 1:5-6)
- Proficiency with Meditech and CPN electronic medical records
- Strong family education and discharge teaching skills
- Ability to triage newborn concerns and collaborate with neonatal providers
- Comfort working night shift environments and maintaining clinical vigilance
