Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality critical care to ICU patients, including post-operative cardiac and complex medical cases
- Manage ventilators and provide advanced ventilator care for critically ill, intubated patients
- Perform hemodynamic monitoring and interpret data to guide timely interventions
- Provide focused post-CABG and post-transplant bedside care when required
- Respond rapidly in emergencies using ACLS and BLS protocols and provide expert CPR when needed
- Collaborate with intensivists, surgeons, respiratory therapists and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the unit’s Meditech system
- Participate in bedside shift report, update the white board, and contribute to a respectful, professional unit culture
Qualifications
- Active Texas RN license required (temporary license will not be accepted)
- Minimum 2+ years of ICU experience (unit requests 2+ years ICU; ad notes 1-2 years in places — 2+ preferred)
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Experience caring for ventilated patients and performing hemodynamic monitoring
- Post-operative cardiac care experience (Post-CABG, CVICU exposure preferred)
- Experience with ECMO, heart transplant or high-acuity cardiac care is a strong plus
- Meditech documentation experience preferred
- Professional bedside manner, strong communication skills, and ability to work rotating weekends
Knowledge & Skills
- Critical care nursing fundamentals and advanced assessment skills
- Hemodynamic monitoring interpretation and management
- Mechanical ventilation management and troubleshooting
- ACLS/BLS protocols and emergency response
- Post-operative cardiac care including post-CABG management
- Familiarity with ECMO and heart transplant patient needs (preferred)
- Proficiency with Meditech or similar electronic documentation systems
- Excellent teamwork, clinical judgment, and bedside reporting practices
